The Albatros is a mechanical tribute to Czech aviation, honoring the Aero L-39 jet trainer — a Cold War icon known for its precision handling and elegant engineering. Designed in the 1960s by Jan Vlček and widely adopted by air forces and aerobatic teams alike, the L-39 inspires this bold, functional pilot’s watch in both spirit and form.
Housed in a 44mm 904L stainless steel case, the Albatros draws directly from the aircraft’s cockpit: a matte grey dial modeled after the instrument panel, crisp yellow-accented numerals, and luminous hands shaped to echo the L-39’s silhouette. A power reserve indicator at 12 o’clock tracks its incredible 192-hour (8-day) wind, while a small seconds and date display sit neatly at 6. The etched jet outline at 9 o’clock balances the ROBOT logo at 3 for purposeful symmetry.
Inside beats the Swiss-made ROBOT/La Joux-Perret FS10 manual-wind movement, beautifully finished and visible through a sapphire caseback. Water resistant to 100 meters and paired with a tri-color NATO-style textile strap lined with leather, the Albatros is a flying machine for the wrist — a tool watch built with both utility and pride in heritage
