This is a very attractive watch. I've worn it for two days on my under-wrist and like the appearance. The black leather band is authentic and time setting is easy. I wear it under-wrist because the face reflects too much light on top of my wrist and I'm unable to tell time in all the glare (Central Florida). The date window is so small you'd need a magnifying glass to read the number. I'm glad to have made the purchase and recommend the watch. Manufactured by a NYC Company that makes watches in China.(3/19/16) I have to amend my eval. During the last two days this beautiful timepiece went un-imaginable. At, first I thought I may have put it on upside down. No, the hour hand and minute hand were as much as 3 hours off. I do not recommend now.(3/21/16) I'm back to 4-stars. My watch was placed on a smart phone holster with a magnet that closes the flap. That is what stopped the timepiece hands. My Bad.I wanted a classy, simple watch that could work on interviews. I wanted the dependability of Quartz and a simple elegant face. This watch met a lot of expectations but fell short on others.Pros:1. Cheap - I don't want a dress watch that costs half a ticket on my wrist. I want understatement. I want elegance, I want simplicity. This watch has that, and for the money, it delivers. I like the sun-ray pattern design, totally uncomplicated face, and it is better looking IMHO than competitors like Timex and Invicta.Cons:2. The band is Cheap, cheap, cheap. Too long for my wrist, and not the best quality. Buy a much dressier patent leather band and this can easily become a good everyday dress watch. More business casual, but I think with a pretty watchband, this could be an interview watch.Personally, I bought a tan leather NATO strap on Etsy and it gave it a really nice summer vibe. Silver on tan is an underrated combination. But the band that came with it is fairly poor.3. There was a smudge on the dial. Not terribly noticeable, and not worth returning, but even the Invictas I get off Amazon don't have such blemishes. With the quality control issues, I'm not 100% certain I'd get Stuhrling Original again.So anyway, I'm off looking for other watchbands and combing eBay for a vintage dress piece.I was looking for a simple, elegant dress watch. This was perfect and I have been wearing it to work every day. I bought a brown band for it as I usually wear brown shoes, brown belt. I still use the black band if I'm wearing black shoes. I had a Seiko 5 that I was using before but I don't wear it often enough to keep it going, since it's an automatic. This one is a quartz watch and it has been running accurately as it should. The only times I need to adjust it are when the month changes so the date is off.Looks really clean and minimalist in its design. I've gotten compliments on it which is always nice. Highly recommend this for anyone looking for a budget dress watch that is beautiful.Overview: Looks great, but the watch face is gigantic and very heavy.Pros: This is a very sleek and elegant watch. The colors are very bold which is exactly what I was looking for.Cons: The watch is enormous. The description does say 42mm which is correct, but that was bigger than it seemed, especially with the casing. I have small wrists, so the face actually just barely stuck over my wrist, and the band didn't really fit tightly either. This may not be an issue for men with thicker wrists, but be wary of this if you are a little guy like me. It is also quite heavy.Other notes: I ended up returning this product. If there was a smaller watch with the same look, I'd be all over it.4/5; great look, bad size.I bought this because its look is very clean, elegant even and I needed a good dress watch.Clearly it is of very high quality and a very good price. But it is huge! Its about an inch anda half (4 cm) across. I have a nice Seiko that is one and a quarter inches (35 mm) and aninformal Swiss Army watch that is 37 mm total distance across but the face is only 30 mm.So the 40 mm face on the Stuhrling is disconcerting. Is this the new style? Its comfortable,I'll wear it, but I'm not sure that is a dress watch at all. I think of dress watches as small elegantand unobtrusive. If you are a big boned rugby player or some kin to Hagrid this is the watch for you.Good value. Looks cool. I lost it a few times, and now can't find it anymore. I loved this watch. The band was made of a good material, it didn't start stinking on me like other cheap watches.This watch is awesome. Stuhrling seems to go above and beyond when it comes to pleasing their customers. The watch came in a fancy box, and the attention to detail makes you feel like you are a valued customer. The watch itself is beautiful and makes you feel like a million bucks. It is probably one of the nicer simple watches you can get for the money. It looks and feels like an expensive watch. It's an all around great buy, and would be a great gift item. I do however want to warn people with slender wrists. I am on the third smallest notch and I have a medium to large wrist. The band will probably not fit people with small wrists. Bottom line: It looks great, feels great, performs great, and is a steal of a price. I have slim wrists so this weight works well for me. Also the size looks good on small wrists. One will have to be super skinny for this watch to look huge on one's wrists.* Face color contrast makes it super easy to read time even outside in sunny day and low light environments.I do recommend it and would buy again for self or as a gift.Words cannot get across how smart this watch is. Not too heavy, with a lovely plain face. Was slightly sceptical of the black and brown combination but I think it works so well. If you are thinking of giving this as a gift, the presentation box is fantastic and is how I would imagine a Rolex to be presented! Very happy with it.This watch looks very well made and stylish but the one big problem is that it is far too big....unless you have the wrists of a heavyweight boxer. It would have been helpful to have given some indication that it is only really suited to the larger man, as I am having to return the product and will be reluctant to buy a replacement on-line. Disappointing.lovely watch, and for the most part very very happy with it. Dial seems to be solid, no scratches on it despise often been in a pocket with my keys or change. The strap seems to be good quality though not the perfect fit for me. Even I can't blame them for not making a watch strap designed to just fit me thoughMy main thing though, is they are not the company they propote to be. They are NOT a Swiss company, they're American and built in china, something I found out after I had purchased. Ordered few days before and it arrived promptly.He is very pleased with it - nice slim watch face, looks smart & keeps good time.The only thing would have liked that it doesn't have is illuminated hands so he could see time if he wakes up in the nightLovely watch, face is Crystal clear. Came presented in an impressive box which helps to add to the expensive feel of the product. Very easy to set up, keeps time great, delivery was as expected. I even caught the face on a sharp metal part of a door and held my breath, rubbed the face with my shirt and its fine.. Exactly what I wanted so 5stars.
